Punalu’u Beach Park

Address: Highway 11, Island of Hawaii, HI 96777

This unique black sand beach is located between Pāhala and Nāʻālehu and is worth a short visit if you have the time.

Surrounded by coconut palms and even a lily pond, making it a darling location for a stroll along the sand. This beach park also contains amenities like showers, a life guard, parking, and shady areas to eat lunch.

Sea turtles are often spotted here and often come up onto the sand, making it easy to great some great pictures!

The water can be a bit dangerous, and weather conditions can vary so be careful and pay attention to currents and signs when choosing to swim at this location.
