A great little secret right in downtown Hilo. Kawilli Street is easy to find but the brewery is easy to miss. Kawilli Street is just a couple blocks up from the airport. Look for the Toyota dealer on the left. You turn right and the brewery is a few short blocks in on the right side. Look for the signage (see picture below).
Under new ownership they now have a full bar with inside and outside seating. They also have a small food selection (hot dog, chips/cheese, food box and sandwiches). It’s a small operation, which is what makes it so nice. The beer is great. A flight of 8 samples is a favorite so there is certainly one that you will enjoy. Then you can go big and buy a growler size bottle. It is fun to buy some beer that you have tasted and take it home. It’s a great way to spend an hour.
They also have mixed drinks such as Margaritas and Bloody Marys.
If you want to take a bit of the brewery home with you, in the same room they sell tee shirts and glassware.
